Alpaca wool is one of the most luxurious fibres in the world, with a softness equal to cashmere but more durable than cashmere. Alpaca fibre is a natural gem for its softness and wonderful properties. The extra fine first fleece of the young is also known as ‘Baby Alpaca’, so that when the animal is shorn for the first time, the best fleece is obtained. Alpaca wool also has another advantage over cashmere – it can be available in up to 28 natural colours, and it does not wrinkle or tangle.
